20 лет на ТВ

Льюис на шикарном поуле с огромным отрывом, Пастор — нереальный главный герой, Фернандо в тройке на родной трассе, Лотус и Заубер в темпе, Баттон и Уэббер вне третьего сегмента, а Виталик впервые впереди Хейкки в чистой скорости. Одна из самых интересных, зрелищных и непредсказуемых квалификаций в сезоне!

Но я сегодня хотел написать о другом. В прошлом году в Спа я справлял свой маленький личный юбилей — 20 лет в Формуле-1, как журналист. Но сегодня юбилей у нас с вами всех куда больший — 20 лет трансляциям в России. Да, формально дата 3 мая, когда прошёл Гран-при Испании в 92-м, уже позади, но не мне вам объяснять, друзья, что в Ф1 меряют гонками, а не датами. И эта гонка будет особенной.

Поэтому просто хотелось бы вспомнить всех, кто причастен к этой истории, отдать им дань. Руководство спортивной редакции «Арена», — Александр Иваницкий и Борис Гультяй, которые и подписали самые первые контракты ВГТРК с Жо де Рако из «САМИПА» и его советником Иваном Аморосом.

Алексей Бурков, царствие ему небесное, который вёл ту самую первую гонку с места событий, а мы с Василием Кикнадзе помогали ему из Москвы. И Сергей Ческидов с которым много работали и тогда и, тем более, в конце 90-х. Помогали нам тогда на эфирах и Виктор Козанков и недавно, увы, от нас ушедший Лев Шугуров, и Николай Попов и Александр Потехин.

Уже во второй волне Формулы-1 на ВГТРК мне доводилось вести репортажи, лишь слыша собеседников на другом конце провода. Тогда в Москве работала Оксана Косаченко, а она звала в студию и, увы, сейчас также безвременно ушедшего Ивана Дыховичного, и Сергея Злобина и Сергея Крылова.

Ну а в самые последние годы, когда объёмы вещания беспреценденто выросли, мне помогали справиться со свободными заездами Александр Гришин, Михаил Цибулин, Константин Курочкин. Со вчерашнего дня к команде комментаторов к моему огромному удовольствию присоединилась и Наталья Фабричнова, чья роль неоценима и в программе «Гран-при».

Точно так же, как тех, кто делает эту программу в Москве второй сезон — моих боевых товарищей по «Неделе Спорта' и Ванкуверу Крилла Филиппова и Вячеслава Русецкого. Спасибо за помощь и в организации трансляций Виктору Мамонтову и братьям Павловым — Ивану и Петру — искренним энтузистам и любителям автогонок. Спасибо продюсеру Григорию Ковбасюку, пробивающему передачу.

Спасибо Дмитрию и Сергею Анисимовым. Мы начали 20 лет назад и до сих пор работаем вместе, стараемся сделать трансляции и передачи лучше. Спасибо Дмитрию Медникову — он столь во многом пошёл нам с вами, друзья навстречу, что вы и представить не можете!

И спасибо Вам! Именно с большой группы — потому что не всем вам, а лично Вам — тому или той, что это читает. 20 лет Вы с нами или первый день — не важно. Важно любить Ф1. И быть вместе.

Hamilton excluded from qualifying; Maldonado on pole

Вчера red sapphire досадовала, что поул выиграл Хэм. Сегодня с утра появилась прекрасная новость...=)

McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton has lost his pole position for Sunday’s Spanish race after the stewards found his car did not have sufficient fuel onboard to comply with the rules on its return to parc ferme.

As a result of the decision, Williams’ Pastor Maldonado inherits pole for the Barcelona round, whilst Hamilton - excluded from the qualifying results - will start from the back of the grid.

The Briton stopped out on track at the end of Q3, after being told over his radio to pull over at the side of the circuit. There wasn’t enough fuel in his MP4-27 to enable it to return under its own power to the pits and for the team to provide a one-litre fuel sample in post-qualifying scrutineering, as required by the sport’s technical regulations.

After a lengthy discussion, the FIA stewards rejected McLaren’s case - put forward by team representative Sam Michael - that the car had stopped out on track due to reasons of ‘force majeure’.

"A team member had put an insufficient quantity of fuel into the car, thereby resulting in the car having to be stopped on the circuit in order to be able to provide the required amount for sampling purposes,” explained the FIA in a statement. “As the amount of fuel put into the car is under the complete control of the competitor, the stewards cannot accept this as a case of force majeure.

"The Stewards determine that this is a breach of Article 6.6.2 of the FIA Formula One Technical Regulations and the Competitor is accordingly excluded from the results of the Qualifying Session. The Competitor is however allowed to start the race from the back of the grid."

Гран-при Испании: Квалификация

Испания. Барселона. Солнечная жаркая погода, снимающая малейшую интригу и надежду на сюрпризы по мокрой погоде и появление неподражаемого SLS. После трехнедельной паузы Формула Один вернулась в Европу в непередаваемую Каталонию, на Circuit de Catalunya. Другая обстановка, другие декорации, но все те же действующие лица.
К пятой гонке сезона у нас по-прежнему ничего не понятно. Первую пятничную практику выиграл Фернандо Алонсо, вторую Дженсон Баттон, третью - Себастьян Феттель. Мерседесы были где-то рядом, где-то рядом они были и в квалификации, и, видимо без надежды на гонку. Но посмотрим. Нико Росберг всего в четырех десятых от поула и седьмое время, Михаэль пробился в третий сегмент, но решил сберечь шины, и дай-то Бог приедет на подиум. По крайней мере хочется верить в то, что Акела-таки не промахнулся, Акеле все же помешали...
Фернандо Алонсо показал третье время позади по сути сенсации сезона Пастора Мальдонадо. В этом сезоне разница между напарниками по команде во всех конюшнях очень сильная, и Вильямс тому пример, и очень печальный, потому что Бруно Сенна все-таки продолжает вызывать у меня симпатии, в силу некоторых известных родственных отношений. Хочется увидеть что-то хорошее в гонке именно от него, но пока Пастор бьет его просто наповал. Возможно будущий чемпион Формулы Один. Потенциал у него невероятный.
А Фернандо, которого я до сих пор не могу спокойно или даже как-то с симпатией воспринимать - на третьем месте, с хорошим настроением и большой вероятностью победы у себя дома. По крайней мере расстройства у него не наблюдается, он вообще по жизни оптимист, или просто самоуверенность у него невероятная?.. В любом случае, el asturiano молодец, и вновь пропасть между Алонсо и Массой... Психология великая вещь, но мир спорта не прощает слабостей... Увы...
За этой развеселой компанией - Лотус в полном составе. В общем-то для бывшей Рено весьма привычные позиции, но для Кими столь высокие места как нынешнее пятое после возвращение - просто прелестно. Роман Грожан... Ну я о нем ничего не знаю, но едет хорошо. Французов в принципе я люблю, но уж если не Алонсо, не Дженсон и не Михаэль, то пусть лучше будет Кими, чем Грожан. По моим по женским ощущениям)))
Дженсон в третий сегмент не прошел, и это при поуле у Хэмильтона, но, как известно, тактики у всех гонщиков, даже у напарников, всегда разные, кто-то больше бережет шины, кто-то все ставит на квалификацию. Все-таки Михаэлю можно и нужно верить, и Пирелли в этом году "хороша", такого не было даже с Бриджстоуном... Жалко, не остался в Формуле товарищ Мишлен, а еще лучше бы несколько шинников, два-три. Может быть когда-нибудь я отважусь внести это предложение Берни...
Ну и конечно же главное украшение Формулы - Алексей Попов. В этот раз на вторую практику в комментаторскую он притащил какую-то картингистку Наташу, которая в общем-то картины не портила и чуши несла намного меньше коллег Лехи по комментариям и пресловутой Оксаны Косаченко, но толку от нее было мало. Проще слушать Попово solo mio - единый текст, пересыпанный перловкой и шутками, красивый тембр и дикция и так далее. Хотя присутствие девушки в студии имеет один весомый плюс: исчезает мужской шовинизм Лехи. А вообще весело слушать, как они друг с другом кокетничают, практически на грани флирта. Впрочем, а почему бы и нет?..
Итак, завтра - Gran Premio de Espana. Красивая трасса в виде рисунка рогов быка, солнечное небо, каталонская жара, тысячи болельщиков, среди которых много русских, высший пилотаж ораторства Алексея Попова и... дай-то Бог новый победитель в гран-при)) К хорошему быстро привыкаешь, но почему бы не помечтать?. К тому же, привезенные с тестов новинки будут интересной изюминкой у каждой команды. Завтра, а у нас уже сегодня - 13 мая, 20летие показа Королевских гонок в России и 63 года первому гран-при в истории Формулы Один, а посему наши парни просто обязаны показать великолепное шоу. И они постараются, в этом нет сомнений. Иначе и быть не может.

“This third place is not what we had expected. We were counting on making a step forward that would allow us to get into Q3 with less difficulty than in the first races of the season and we managed it. But we certainly did not think we could be so high up the grid. I don’t know if this position is a true reflection of our car’s performance - it’s definitely not normal for a Red Bull and a McLaren to be eliminated in Q2 and that the other Red Bull gets into Q3 with no sets of new Soft tyre available – but what is certain is that the new parts we have brought here have resulted in us taking a step in the right direction: sure, it’s not yet enough to fight for the very top places. It’s a good basis to start from for this weekend, but the points come tomorrow. We will try and get a good start, especially as some of my main opponents in the title fight start behind us and we must try and make the most of that. Tyre performance will be a critical factor: we will have to be careful, because the forecast is for different temperatures to today and that could throw up some surprises. Racing in front of this amazing crowd always gives me some extra motivation!”

“When qualifying is as close as this, it is vital to manage to have everything fall into place on a clean lap and I never got that chance. On my second run in Q2, I came across at least seven or eight cars that were preparing their tyres for their timed lap and the time I lost definitely cost me dear. It’s a real shame to start seventeenth in a race in which our car has shown it has made a step forward in terms of performance, as could be seen from Fernando’s result. The new aerodynamic parts which we introduced on the F2012 seem to have worked well – we have a bit more aerodynamic downforce and a bit less drag – but we are well aware that there is still a lot to do. Tomorrow, on a track as hard as this one on the tyres, strategy will be crucial: let’s hope I can make it into the points.”

“A good result with Fernando, who managed to qualify third, the best performance of the season. A shame for Felipe, who suffered because of traffic on his quick lap in Q2: right now, I cannot say if he would have made the cut out of Q2, but it definitely cost him some places. We brought various updates here, especially aerodynamic ones: some worked well, meeting our expectations, others less so: looking at this afternoon’s result we can say we have made a step forward, but it’s clear that there is still a lot of work to do to always be at the same level as the best. However, third place is a confidence boost and it is down to everyone who, these past weeks, back home and at the track, has worked hard to reach this objective. Now we must confirm this progress in the race as well. The forecast is for slightly lower temperatures tomorrow and that could have an effect on tyre behaviour. We have seen various choices in terms of tyre management: now we will see who made the right choice.”

“The session was very closely contested and packed with surprises. Finally this year, we managed to get to Q3 in a condition that meant we could show our worth, at least with one of the drivers. Fernando did a fantastic job from the first to the final lap of the session, constantly improving and, once again, getting all the potential out of the car. Felipe fought hard, but on his lap with new Soft tyres in Q2, he had a lot of traffic and lost a few tenths that would have brought him close to tenth place. We had a lot of new parts on the F2012 and the aim was to make up at least part of the gap to the best in terms of pure performance. We have made a step forward, this is a fact. Tomorrow’s race seems very hard to predict and tyre performance will make the difference. The weather could also play an important role, given we have already seen that a few degrees more or less can change the cards on the table.”

“I think we had a chance to be in the top three but we’ve been fighting with the set-up quite a bit today. We changed the car for qualifying and actually it was the correct call in the end; it was just a few small mistakes which cost me some time on my Q3 lap. We’ll see how it goes tomorrow in the race; the car has usually been better on Sunday than it has been on Saturday, so if that’s the case tomorrow we’ll be pretty happy. A lot of small details will decide the race and the tyres are one aspect of course. Our long runs were promising yesterday, so we’re not looking too bad. Hopefully we get a reasonable start and we can be up at the right end and go for it. I think we’ve got a good car and that’s the main thing.”

"That was a tricky qualifying session this afternoon, and seventh position was about the most that we could have achieved. It was a challenge to find the right set-up for the tyres and some of the others did that better than we did today. However with a good strategy tomorrow, we can hopefully gain some places. This has been a mixed up season so far and it's interesting to see that there are some new guys on the front row tomorrow."

Michael Schumacher (9th, Q3 - no time)
“We wanted to save tyres this afternoon, which dictated how we managed Q3. I did not complete a timed lap, and now I still have the choice of what tyres to start on tomorrow. Equally, I thought it was better to start from ninth on the grid than eighth, and be on the clean side. It's clear that some teams have taken a step forward after the three-week break. And I would also say that the field is now even closer together. It's going to be a tight race tomorrow, although the forecast says it should be cooler, and it will be interesting to see if our choices today pay off at the end of the race."

"We completed useful race preparation work this morning, showed some improvement and went into qualifying expecting an interesting session due to the desire to save tyres for the race. The story of qualifying indeed turned out to be one of managing tyre use, and it certainly delivered a unique session. From a team perspective, we got two cars into the top ten and both drivers will start from the cleaner side of the grid, while our positions were probably as good as we could have achieved with the way we chose to use the tyres. Tomorrow's forecast is still for cooler temperatures, and with what we have seen both this weekend and this season so far, we know that a difference of several degrees in track temperature can make a huge difference to how different cars perform. We can expect a very interesting race."

"A qualifying dominated by tyre saving which most of the teams did and we were no exception. Some sessions are tight, like Q2 when 0.048s separated P5 from P10, others are not, as Lewis' impressive qualifying time more than half a second ahead of P2 proved. Having said that, it is most likely that we will see changes in the top ten order from today at the end of the race tomorrow. Our target will be to score points with both cars posting consistent lap times as Nico did during his long run at the end of the final practice session this morning."

“I’m pretty surprised by that; the guys did a good job with the car and were pushing hard all weekend. We were quick, but the track kept getting faster and we got caught out. My first timed lap in Q2 wasn’t fast enough. I was P2 after the first lap and we thought we had done enough, but in the end it wasn’t. I didn’t use two sets of tyres in Q2, which it turns out wasn’t the right thing to do. I was told not to go out again, but the way that the track improved was a surprise to all of us. We were very strong in the first part of Q2 and I was happy with how I drove my lap. It’s the way it goes sometimes.”

Christian Horner, Red Bull team principal
“A difficult session, obviously everyone ended up having to use the soft tyre in Q1. In Q2 we thought we had done enough with Mark, we knew it was going to be tight, but we thought the time was enough and were keen to take a new set of tryes into Q3, but it didn’t work out and we missed the cut with him. We knew we had to run again with Seb and he did just enough to make it into Q3, but he’d used all his sets of soft tyres, at which point it became a game of tactics. Mercedes were in the same position as us with tyres and were the only one we could potentially out qualify. We performed an out and in-lap to make sure we were the first to do that and then started a timed, but Seb was down compared to Rosberg - the the only other scrubbed tyre user – so we aborted the lap and will start in P8. We have four new sets of tyres for Mark and three for Sebastian, which can be extremely valuable in the race.”

“Strategy was at the forefront of qualifying today, with a gap of around 0.8 seconds between the hard and the soft tyres, depending on the team. Historically, Barcelona is a race that has nearly always been won from the front row of the grid, but now drivers that have qualified lower down the grid still have a possibility to challenge for victory. There were some surprising eliminations in Q2; however these drivers will feel the benefit of having more fresh tyres, so it will be interesting to see what they can do with them. As Barcelona is so demanding on every aspect of the dynamics of a car, including tyre management, it is normally a very good indicator of the likely form for the rest of the year. With the teams so closely matched this season, and the upgrades introduced at Mugello beginning to take effect, it’s going to be very hard to predict a winner for tomorrow. Particular congratulations to Pastor Maldonado and Williams - who have consistently got the most out of the tyres throughout the weekend so far.”

FIA post-qualifying press conference - Spain

Drivers: 1 - Lewis Hamilton (McLaren), 2 - Pastor Maldonado (Williams), 3 - Fernando Alonso (Ferrari)

Q: Lewis, McLaren’s 150th Formula One pole position today. You really had to manage to the process though, particularly with the tyres. You were in the groove from the start, but what happened at the end when you stopped out on the track?
Lewis Hamilton: Well, firstly it was a fantastic qualifying session for me. Really, I’m very happy with the way… I think it’s one of the best ones I’ve ever had. Amazing job by the guys in the garage. Huge thanks to the guys in the factory for bringing us the upgrades, which have worked fantastically. I stopped on the track. I was told to stop. I don’t really have any idea why. But the car was feeling great today. It's a great day for the team, I think. I don’t know what happened with Jenson, but he’s got great strength and pace throughout the race, so I have no doubt that he will make his way up through the grid.

Q: Pastor, a sensational session for you and Williams. Where did you find the speed from?
Pastor Maldonado: I think we’ve been working so hard from the beginning of the year trying to understand these tyres and to develop our car around the tyres and I think we actually did a really good step forward for this race. We need to continue to like that, keep pushing. I think at the moment there is a great atmosphere in the factory, a great atmosphere here in the team, the car looks pretty consistent and fantastic, especially in the race pace, so I’m looking forward to tomorrow. It’s a great feeling to be here, it’s my first time in the top three, so I’m really happy and hopefully we will continue like that and I would like to say thanks to the whole team.

Q: Fernando, a lot of updates also on the Ferrari. Are you heading in the right direction now?
Fernando Alonso: Yeah, I think so. Obviously for us it was impossible to even dream about being in the top three in the four races, we just had eyes on Q3 with no new set [of tyres] left or anything like that, so definitely it’s a step forward. The grid is so compact now that if you improve two or three tenths it makes a huge difference in terms of positions: five or six positions. So we did a step forward. I still doubt how much we did, because I think maybe P3 is a little bit over-performing what we can do at the moment. But I’m extremely happy with the lap; it was perfect. I don’t think there is much more to come. I think I could put 100 more sets of tyres on and I could only repeat the lap time probably. It is the way it is. I’m extremely happy for today and hopefully we maximise or capitalise on this good starting position tomorrow with a good result.

Q: Back to you Lewis. Obviously a lot of tyre tactics going on in qualifying today. What about the race tomorrow? What’s your read on how things are going to shape up and what kind of shape do you feel you’re in to become the fifth different race winner in five races?
LH: Well, we’ve looked after our prime tyres, which is generally the better tyre for the race, or so it seems at the moment - the longer lasting tyre. Also the option tyres are all in good condition so… I think it’s going to be a massively tough race tomorrow. Of course, I’ve got these two great drivers next to me. I’m really happy to see this guy [Pastor Maldonado] up here and to see Williams up here and also Fernando. It’s really great to see my old team-mate up here as well and I’m going to have a great battle with these guys and I really hope we’re going to put on a great show for all the fans.

Q: Lewis, congratulations. That was a great lap at the end. You must be so satisfied with it?
LH: I really am. I think every time you go out, every time you qualify you’re searching for that perfect lap. You’re searching to put the car in just the right sweet spot, where you’re gaining all the time you could possibly gain and you’re not losing anywhere and I really felt that throughout Q1, Q2 and Q3… after Q1 I was like ‘damn, that should have been my Q3 lap’ but I was really grateful that I was able to continue that throughout the session and yeah, fantastic feeling really - overwhelmed.

Q: Lewis, you’ve started third on the grid here for the last three years and you haven’t yet won this grand prix, you’ve been twice second. Do you really want to tick this box, win this grand prix, one of the ones you haven’t yet won?
LH: Well I’m very much aware that I have an incredibly tough race tomorrow with these guys who are massively quick - also on their long runs - and just how tricky it is in general. But it would mean a huge amount for me to win here in Spain. It’s always been a great place for me, it’s beautiful weather all the time and the people are just incredible and the support that I’ve had continues to grow year by year. And it’s become such a pleasure for me to come here. So, to win at one of the circuits where they have one of the biggest fan bases for Formula One in general, would be fantastic.

Q: Can you explain why there should be such changing fortune, even between team-mates? For example, your team-mate didn’t get through to Q3, his [Maldonado’s] team-mate didn’t get through into Q2 even and his [Alonso’s] team-mate starts 17th. It seems extraordinary the changing fortunes even for team-mates.
LH: I think it’s surprising all of us. We are all very surprised. Obviously we are very happy that we’re up here! It just fantastic to see how close it is. You lose a tenth or two, that means you have to use your next set of tyres which then has a knock-on effect for the next session if you do or don’t get through. And so it’s massively competitive and it’s great for… I’m sure the fans are loving it - maybe not enjoying Q3 so much, but we definitely did.

Q: Pastor, where did it come from? How much did you get sorted out in Mugello? Do you think it’s a knock-on effect after Mugello?
PM: I think all the guys in the factory did a wonderful job because the upgrades we have for this race, everything is working on the car. I was pretty happy yesterday in the free practice and the balance is there. Even though our strongest point has always been in the race, so I’m looking forward for tomorrow. Actually we improved - our worst thing was the qualifying pace so pretty happy for that, pretty happy for the team, for my country, for myself. It’s a great job today.

Q: Is this a favourite circuit, one of your best? I know Bruno [Senna] said it was one of his favourite circuits…
PM: I think all of us, we know very well this circuit, we enjoy this circuit because of the combination of corners we find here, even the teams know very well. I think we have been working so hard in the winter tests here and so we find a good balance in the car and a good compromise for quali and race.

Q: Did you feel yesterday ‘hey, we can really do something here’? Did you already feel that yesterday?
PM: Yes. I think yesterday we were thinking about top ten, it was possible. This morning I was quite surprised about our performance because the car was so quick with lower fuel. This morning it was possible.

Q: Fernando, I don’t think anyone was ever going to discount you here. I don’t know what it was, maybe the crowd, or Ferrari etc, etc, How much satisfaction, third on the grid?
FA: Really happy. No doubt that this is a special weekend for me. And as I said on Thursday, there is always some extra motivation, some over-performing a little bit of what you have on hand, and yeah, thanks to the updates we had here, definitely we did a step forward, in the right direction because we hardly get into Q3 in the first four races and now we arrive with a little bit more comfortable way and then in Q3 the lap was good. I said before in the other conference with another hundred new tyres I would repeat the same time - I don’t think there is any time left. But the points are given tomorrow, not today. We did as much as we could today and we are happy to start in a much better position that what we did in the previous grands prix. But we need the points tomorrow. Especially… the grid positions are mixed a little bit as you said, with some of the people that are in front of us in the championship, they start at the back tomorrow - so we need to take benefit of this good position today and score more points than them.

Q: We remember in particular your start last year. Are we going to see a repeat of that?
FA: I’ll tell you tomorrow. Definitely, a little bit like Pastor and Williams, our race pace is much better than qualifying pace - that is normally our weakest point and we suffer on Saturday some bad positions and then compromise a little bit our race pace. So tomorrow we have a privileged position to start, so the first corner will be important if we can gain some positions, but it’s important also not to lose. The race tomorrow is very long with the tyre degradation and, as I said, we must score points tomorrow, good points, with this position we have. So, aggressive start yes, crazy start not.

Q: (Adrian Huber - Agencia EFE) Fernando, will you be happy tomorrow repeating this position or will you be looking for something more?
FA: You never know in Formula One. I think a podium position, we tend to agree in the team, if someone tells us two or three days ago, before coming to Barcelona, or after the Mugello test, that in Barcelona you will be on the podium, I think we all agree, we all be happy with that position. Today, obviously with this position, that dream or that target is closer. But I think the race is very long tomorrow and we saw even in Bahrain, Kimi started ninth, (11th), he was P10 or P11 in lap one and he nearly won the race in the end, so the positions are not crucial anymore as previous years. I think it will be an extremely tough race tomorrow to take care of the tyres again. Degradation, DRS, KERS to overtake. Pitstop strategy, we will see probably a lot of pitstops for everybody. The more pitstops you have, the more risk you have to have a problem in the pits. There are a lot of factors tomorrow that we need to take account. It will be a difficult race. A podium, I think, will be a good result for us and happy.

Q: (Leonid Novozhilov - F1 Life) Lewis, are you happy? What are you feeling now? What do you think about tomorrow, this position?
LH: I really feel fantastic. I’m very, very happy. Normally you can always be happy with a pole position of course, but for some reason even more so this time than maybe any other qualifying that I’ve had, except for the first pole position I have had in Formula One. Just because, as I was just saying, you’re always looking for that perfect lap, and I really, really felt that I got everything just, just sweet there and got absolutely everything out of my car. I didn’t miss apexes or anything like that. It’s an incredibly feeling when you have that. It’s really just a very unique experience. But tomorrow’s going to be a tough race. As you were just saying, Fernando had a great start here last year and it’s such a long drive down to turn one - but he was also saying people are coming to win from quite far back, or to compete for wins from quite far back, so tomorrow’s just going to be about looking after your tyres, getting the right pitstops at the right times and really being patient, I think, at the most important times during the race.

Q: (Fulvio Solms - Corriere Dello Sport) To all three drivers; they have chosen new rules and tyres to have an unpredictable Formula One. Do you think this championship is just unpredictable, or technically less logical as well?
FA: I don’t think they choose the tyres for the championship to be unpredictable. We have the tyres that we have.
LH: I’m not sure that they were expecting it to be as it is, but I definitely think that it is a bit unpredictable at the moment, massively close. There have been several different winners in the races and you can make such a big difference, if you don’t finish one race but then you win the next race, it can still keep you in contention so it feels for me - out of all the championships that I’ve been in - it feels to me to be one of the most exciting ones. Regardless if I haven’t won yet, it just feels like one of the best, I imagine, for people to watch.
PM: I think that the tyres are the same for everybody so all the teams and all the drivers are working hard to adapt ourselves, even the cars to these tyres and to get the best performance we can.

Q: (Marco degli Innocenti - La Gazzetta dello Sport) Pastor when you reached Williams, there were a lot of people, among journalists too, who expressed doubts about you and they said that you have got the seat because of your rich sponsors and so on. Now, are you convinced that you have proved that you are one of the top drivers, thanks to your qualities?
PM: I’m think that I’m lucky, I’m lucky to have not only a sponsor behind me but also a country behind me, pushing me so hard. Here I am, doing my job, doing my best, trying to improve every time. I have a mission, which is to be back with Williams to the top, so here we are. We still need to keep pushing, to keep improving and I think that is possible.

Q: (Silvia Arias - Parabrisas) Pastor, congratulations, I want to know about the start tomorrow. What do you think? Is it going to be easier to attack Lewis at the first corner, or defend from Fernando?
PM: I think it’s going to be a very tough race, because not only us three but even the other drivers have a very close pace. Our strongest point was always race pace so hopefully our car will be very consistent and pretty good in the race. I hope to continue like that, I hope to stay in the position, the podium is very important for us, the points, so it’s very important to keep calm and to do good race.

Q: (Laurentzi Garmendia - Berria) Lewis, we have such a close championship in terms of times in qualifying, but I think your gap was over half a second to Pastor. Does it surprise you? It looks like a dominant car.
LH: Yes, I’m definitely surprised to have such a big gap. I wasn’t surprised that it was a good lap because it felt that I switched the tyres on the right way and I feel that I extracted everything but yeah, considering that all the sessions are so close, all the teams are so close, I definitely wasn’t expecting to have such a big gap. That’s quite a big gap for us but we definitely can’t take it for granted. I think we’ll go to other races and it will be slower and in some races we will be faster but we really, really hope that with the continuous upgrades that we get we can try to maintain the pace that we have, especially through qualifying but most importantly to try and improve through the race.

Q: (Mike Doodson - Honorary) Fernando and Lewis: I think we all agree that it’s a good thing when Williams is doing well in Formula One and both of you have had moments this year when you’ve been racing with Pastor or the other Williams driver. I wonder if either of you or both of you could tell me where the car has strong points that you’ve noticed while racing with it on the circuit.
LH: I can’t remember exactly what your strong points are but for me it’s fantastic to see Williams up here, really, really very happy for them. I know Sir Frank quite well since I’ve been here and I’m a huge admirer of him and his team and to see them up here again, I think Formula One’s just not been the same without Williams being at the front, competing. So it’s good, it’s great for them and for the whole team. I’ve always thought they had quite a good car, it always looked quite beautiful but I think this year it’s performing as well as looking good, so we’ll definitely be on our toes to try and make sure we’re ahead of them.
FA: Yeah, I don’t know. Obviously I fight a little bit more with them than Lewis probably in these four races. The car looks strong in race pace as Pastor said and basically taking care of the tyres. I remember in China they did like 32 laps with the same set of tyres that no one could adapt to. Apart from the car, they are doing a very good job, setting up the car with the engineers - I know some of them, very talented and a fantastic job from the drivers as well. Pastor has this year proved, not only today, but many times this year that he’s doing a fantastic job, also with Bruno but less lucky sometimes. In Australia, on the last lap, Pastor crashed behind me but I was already fighting in the top five so it’s not new that he’s fighting in these top positions so well done to all of them.

Q: (Jaime Rogriguez - El Mundo) Fernando, after the last free practice this morning, did you imagine that after qualifying could be fighting for pole? When did you feel the real change in the car?
FA: No, obviously this morning’s practice we didn’t think we could be in the top five or top six. I think P8 to P12 was more or less our position after practice, same as after yesterday’s practice as well, that we were fastest in the morning and P14 in the afternoon, so we were something in between those positions in practice as well. Yeah, I’m happy and a little bit surprised to be in front of one McLaren, both Red Bulls, both Lotuses, so definitely this is not what we were expecting but qualifying went like this, it went our way this time and as I said, today means nothing if we don’t finish the job tomorrow.

Q: (Carlos Miguel - La Gaceta ) Fernando, are you worried that you might not to be able to finish the race in the same position you are in now, or are you worried the rhythm of the Renault - because they were very strong on Friday - and maybe some of the guys behind. I ask about Kimi because I think he could be a contender for the race.
FA: Yeah, yeah, definitely, the Lotus will be a threat tomorrow, starting fourth and fifth. They’ve been quick all weekend so tomorrow no surprises if they are fighting for the podium or even for a race win. Sebastian is P8 so he will be fighting for a top position later in the race. With Jenson and Mark having the possibility to chose which tyres to start on, I’m sure that they will prepare something good to recover position because they have the pace. They had the pace yesterday in FP2 and I’m sure that tomorrow they will be quick. The race will be tough to maintain positions because we believe that there are quicker cars behind us but let’s see what we can do. On the other hand, this is not an easy track to overtake on,

Q: (Michael Schmidt - Auto, Motor und Sport) The forecast for tomorrow is significantly cooler, can that change the picture that some cars which hadn’t been up to speed today might fall into the operating window of the tyres tomorrow?
LH: I think it could be the opposite. If people are struggling today to switch their tyres on then potentially they would struggle even more if it was cooler but that is a real tricky situation to be in, that sometimes three tyres come in and one, your left front doesn’t work and then you just have understeer and you don’t get the time. If it is the case and it’s cooler tomorrow it will be tough for everyone, even the guys who did switch their tyres on today.
FA: Maybe rain.

Q: (Livio Oricchio - O Estado de Sao Paulo) To all drivers: you approach the times that you registered in winter testing today, with the same tyres but 20 degrees hotter asphalt. Can you make an analysis about this?
LH: Did we do these times in the winter?
FA: Yes, 21.6s for Grosjean in winter I think. We did 22.2s, we did 22.5s today, something like that. I think the cars improved a lot between February and now but the temperature… we know that the hotter it is the slower you are. It happens in the winter as well. If you do your best time at 9 ‘o clock in the morning, then you cannot repeat those times in the afternoon. In a way that shows how much the cars improved for everybody from February to here. It’s good.
PM: I agree. I think today was a bit more windy, which is a penalty for everybody.

Случалось ли вам бросать дневник? Если да, то почему? - Нет, я не бросала, но между первой и второй записью очень большой перерыв во времени. Не о чем и некому было писать.

О чем вы пишете в своем дневнике? — Обо всем, что запало в душу. В последнее время преимущественно о Формуле Один (да, да, я всех уже достала, айм сорри))

Фернандо Алонсо: "Моя жизнь серьезно изменилась"



Вопрос: Фернандо, чем вы занимались после гонки в Будапеште?
Фернандо Алонсо: Сначала участвовал в мероприятии Renault, в Польше, а потом провел несколько дней дома, в Оксфорде. Отдыхал, тренировался перед предстоящей гонкой, ничего особенного.

Вопрос: В Испании побывать не удалось?
Фернандо Алонсо: Нет, после победы ко мне приковано слишком большое внимание. Если бы я поехал в Испанию после венгерской гонки, то не смог бы выйти на улицу. Журналисты ходили бы за мной 24 часа в сутки.

Вопрос: Ваши успехи отметил даже король Испании...
Фернандо Алонсо: Да, это так. Он - настоящий болельщик, поклонник автоспорта и мы уже несколько раз встречались. Его звонок после гонки в Будапеште был очень важен для меня, моя победа - это победа Испании, а для нас король - это особенная персона и получить от него поздравление очень почетно.

Вопрос: Эта победа изменила ваш подход к гонкам?
Фернандо Алонсо: Нет. Конечно для меня победа, это шаг вперед, я очень долго о ней мечтал, но еще важнее она для команды. В Renault очень многое сделали для того, чтобы составить конкуренцию сильнейшим командам, за последние несколько месяцев проделана огромная работа, особенно с мотором, с объединением специалистов из Энстона и Вири. Мы не ждали этой победы и она стала настоящей наградой для нас.

Вопрос: Кажется она досталась вам относительно легко...
Фернандо Алонсо: Да, успех в квалификации стоил 50% конечного результата, потому что обгонять в Будапеште довольно трудно. После старта я постарался оторваться, а затем берег машину и резину, лишь поддерживая комфортное преимущество. Правда странные звуки из машины заставили немного поволноваться.

Вопрос: Вы рассчитывали на подобную победу?
Фернандо Алонсо: Нет, я представлял, что выиграю первую гонку из-за механических проблем у соперников, к примеру, если Ferrari Михаэля Шумахера сломается в Барселоне. Конечно я не ждал победы после столь серьезного доминирования в гонке.

Вопрос: Ваш отец присутствовал на гонке в Венгрии, что это значило для вас?
Фернандо Алонсо: Он не был в Малайзии, потому что не любит длинных перелетов и в результате пропустил мой первый подиум. Семья пошла на многие жертвы ради моей карьеры и конечно, увидев отца с верхней ступеньки подиума в Будапеште я испытал особые чувства. Как и он.

Вопрос: Многие видят в вас будущего чемпиона, как вы на это реагируете?
Фернандо Алонсо: Не придаю внимания. Я читал хорошие отзывы после Сепанга и Барселоны, когда результат был не столь выдающимся. Уверен, после Монцы журналисты будут писать о ком-то еще.

Вопрос: Следующая гонка пройдет в Монце, на что вы надеетесь?
Фернандо Алонсо: Наверное это будет самая трудная для гонка в сезоне и на многое мы не рассчитываем. Цель очень проста - набрать как можно больше очков. Мы считали, что будем конкурентоспособны в Будапеште, но на победу не надеялись, вероятно и от итальянской трассы можно ждать сюрпризов.

Вопрос: И напоследок, скажите, жизнь в Формуле 1 оказалась так же трудна, как вы рассчитывали?
Фернандо Алонсо: Еще труднее. В этом году моя жизнь серьезно изменилась, у меня почти нет личного времени. Я больше не могу несколько часов кататься на велосипеде или обедать с друзьями. Но если это цена, которую нужно заплатить за победу, то проблем нет, я не жалуюсь.

В настоящее время Ральф Шумахер выступает за рулем гоночного Mercedes в популярном немецком кузовном чемпионате DTM и тоже пока не думает о завершении карьеры: «Мне по-прежнему нужен адреналин. Разумеется, когда-то наступит момент, когда твое физическое состояние уже не позволит выступать в гонках, но когда я смотрю на Михаэля, то понимаю, что впереди у нас еще не один сезон».

Ники Лауда: «Вот увидите, в этом году Михаэль будет побеждать. Наконец, у Mercedes есть хорошая машина, позволяющая бороться в первых рядах.

Покинет ли Михаэль Формулу 1, если не сможет выигрывать? Он давно выступает в чемпионате и знает, как здесь всё устроено. Успехи Росберга его скорее мотивируют, чем огорчают. Он добьётся успеха!»

Михаэль Шумахер заявил, что стремится как можно скорее вернуться на подиум, поскольку машина Mercedes уже позволяет выигрывать гонки.

Его напарник Нико Росберг был сильнейшим в Шанхае и принес своей команде победу – это первое подобное достижение штутгартской марки в Формуле 1 с 1955-го года.

Накануне Гран При Испании Шумахер сказал, что теперь, после этого успеха, Mercedes AMG должна скорректировать свои цели на оставшиеся гонки сезона, поскольку изначально команда предполагала, что путь к победе будет более долгим.

«Подиум или любой другой хороший результат, когда бы я его ни достиг, можно только приветствовать, – вне зависимости от того, это будет победа, или нет», – заявил Михаэль на пресс-конференции Mercedes в Барселоне.

Также он отметил значение недавних тестов в Муджелло: «В ходе нескольких первых гонок мы поняли, в чем наши сильные и слабые стороны, но для того, чтобы исправить недостатки, важно было провести эти тесты.

У нас была возможность поработать с машиной вне гоночного уик-энда и выполнить ряд специфических программ, которые позволили лучше изучить особенности W03 – все это было очень полезно».

Да, я люблю семикратного и всегда за него болею. Первая любовь не забывается...

О грядущем празднике
Завтра великий праздник - день Победы. И в связи с этим я испытываю два совершенно противоречивых чувства.
С одной стороны, это гордость за Отчизну и светлая скорбь по всем, кто боролся с фашизмом и отдал жизнь во благо Родины. Можно сказать много торжественных речей и громких слов. Но я не буду этого делать сейчас, ибо с другой стороны (как не к стати, но похоже, без мата не обойдется, ибо просто не удержусь) меня берет ебаный стыд за нашу молодежь, да и не только молодежь. Ощущение, будто с самого утра начнется конкурс на "Самое экзотическое место, куда можно приколоть георгиевскую ленточку", и к вечеру это плавно перейдет в марафон "Нажрись за победу". Люди, да вы что, охуели или совсем без мозгов?! Георгиевская лента - это символ памяти, но вы готовы прицепить ее везде, где получится и едва ли не на жопу. Ради всего святого - только на грудь. "Нажраться за победу" - это вообще отдельная тема. Особенно, когда идешь вечером 9-го мимо площади и торговоого центра и видишь хренову кучу зеленых от количества выпитого алкоголя людей, заблеванные ступеньки и прочее. Эпик фейл. Мне становится настолько противно и стыдно за современную молодежь, что невольно начинаю задумываться над тем, стоило ли нашим дедам побеждать ради спасения жизней таких дегенератов, как мы... и это очень печально.
Опомнитесь, наконец. Нет, я не безгрешный моралист и не призываю шарахаться от стопки водки, но упороться до потери сознания - это верх неуважения к памяти павших. Это бескультурье. Свинство.
И мне хочется верить во всеобщее благоразумие и то, что грядущий день Победы не будет превращен в очередную безудержную пьянку.
